At its meeting at the 2009 National Specialty, the BCCA Board approved BCCME's bid to hold the 2011 National Specialty at The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport. The dates of the show are October 1-7, 2011.
We won't kid you -- this will be a huge undertaking, and we're going to need everybody's help to pull it off. Don't worry if you've never been to a National Specialty before or even a dog show -- you won't need specialized skills to do 99% of the things that need to be done, and the Show Superintendent's staff will be doing most of the heavy lifting for the show itself.
Just think of what it will be like to see hundreds of Beardies in one place -- puppies, old-timers, champion show dogs, rescued Neardies -- all in one place. The shopping will be amazing, too -- lots of vendors selling all manner of Beardie stuff from T-shirts and jewelry to furniture. You'll get to meet Beardie people from all over the world, and catch up with old friends you might not have seen in years.
We do have a list of committees, and many of those have committee chairs. All of the committees could use help. If you're interested in joining in the fun, contact Val (the lucky Show Chair) and let her know what you'd like to do. She'll be happy to match you up with a committee or a task that could really use your help.
